How it works

  1. Start with one clear face

A sharp photo of one person in decent light. A selfie works, a half-body photo gives the armor and cloak more room.

  2. Pick your character

Keep the prepared knight prompt or choose another role below: elf archer, sorceress, dragon rider or a quiet village healer.

  3. Generate and adjust

Compare the result with your photo. If you want a different weapon, color or setting, change that one detail and run it again.

Fantasy characters to try with your photo

Hooded knight, oil portrait

Repaint this photo as an old-master oil portrait of a battle-worn knight: dented steel shoulder plates over chainmail, a deep red hooded cloak, gloved hands on a sword hilt, warm light from one side, dark stone arches behind. Keep my face, hair and expression recognizable as in the photo.

Elf archer in an old forest

Turn this photo into a fantasy illustration of an elf archer: gently pointed ears, fitted leather armor with leaf patterns, a longbow and a quiver, misty light between twisted trees, soft green and silver colors. Keep my face, hair and expression recognizable as in the photo.

Apply to my photo

Sorceress of runes

Repaint this photo as a fantasy sorceress: a long midnight-blue robe with glowing cyan runes along the sleeves, a ball of cold blue light between the hands, drifting ice crystals, a dark background. Keep my face, hair and expression recognizable as in the photo.

Apply to my photo

Dragon rider above the clouds

Turn this photo into an epic fantasy painting: me in light scale armor riding a large dragon on a cliff edge, floating islands and snowy peaks far below, wind in the hair, a pale moon in a deep blue sky. Keep my face, hair and expression recognizable as in the photo.

Apply to my photo

Village healer

Repaint this photo as a cozy fantasy character portrait of a village healer: a linen shirt and a herb-stained apron, bundles of dried plants and glass bottles on wooden shelves, warm firelight, painterly storybook texture. Keep my face, hair and expression recognizable as in the photo.

Character card for a tabletop game

Turn this photo into a fantasy character card: a half-body painted portrait as a traveling ranger with a green cloak and a short sword, framed by a simple carved border on aged parchment, no text. Keep my face, hair and expression recognizable as in the photo.

Tips for a fantasy portrait that still looks like you

Fantasy styles add a lot: armor, ears, hair in the wind, dramatic light. The more the model paints around you, the more it may also touch your face, so give it reasons not to.

  • One person, sharp face. Group photos and tiny faces in wide shots lose likeness first.
  • Keep the last sentence of each prompt. "Keep my face, hair and expression recognizable" protects your features while the costume changes.
  • Close-ups for portraits, half-body for scenes. The dragon rider and the elf archer need some body in frame; the knight portrait works from a selfie.
  • Describe the role, not a famous character. Colors, materials and setting steer the result better than a name.

If you want an original character drawn from scratch, without your face, the AI character generator works from a text description. The two illustrations at the end of the gallery above were made that way, not from a photo.

What it costs

Each fantasy portrait is one Nano Banana generation: 12 Gems for one square image. New accounts start with 30 Gems, enough for two portraits. You see the price before you generate, and if a generation fails the Gems are returned automatically.

Limits

The filter paints a generic fantasy look. It can't put you into a specific film, book or game, and it won't copy a named character's costume. Small details such as earrings, tattoos or the exact haircut can shift, so check the result against your photo. Upload photos of yourself or of adults who agreed to it.

Questions about Fantasy Filter

How do I turn my photo into a fantasy character?

Upload one clear photo, keep the knight prompt or choose another role such as elf archer or sorceress, and generate. Nano Banana returns one square painted image, and you can try another role on the same photo.

Will I still recognize myself?

In most results, yes, because every prompt asks the model to keep your face, hair and expression. Big scenes like the dragon rider make the face smaller, so likeness is easier to keep with the knight or sorceress portraits and a sharp source photo.

Can it make me a character from a famous film or game?

No. The prompts describe original fantasy roles through armor, robes, light and setting, not any existing franchise or character. You can still get close to the mood you want by naming colors, materials and the place.

How much does a fantasy portrait cost?

One image is 12 Gems on Nano Banana, and the price is shown before you generate. A new account starts with 30 Gems, which covers two portraits, and Gems for a failed generation come back automatically.

Can I use a photo of my dog or my house?

The prompts here are written for people. You can edit one to describe a pet in armor or a house as a castle, but results vary more, so treat it as an experiment and keep the instruction to preserve the original shape.
