Merge PDF files and images into one PDF
Merge PDF files in your browser.
Updated
How it works
Add your files
Open the tool (it may ask you to sign in first) and add PDFs, plus JPG or PNG images if you want them as pages.
Order and clean up
Drag files into the order you want and remove any you added by mistake.
Download one PDF
Press the download button and you get a single merged file.
How do I merge PDF files?
Add the PDFs you want to join. You can also add JPG or PNG images, and each one becomes a page, so this works as an images-to-PDF tool too. Reorder the list, remove what you don't need, and download one file.
Picture a rental application (an example): the signed form, two payslips as PDFs and a photo of your ID. Add all four, put them in the order the landlord asked for, and send a single file.
It may ask you to sign in before the tool opens. Merging does not use Gems.
How can I check that nothing is uploaded?
The merge runs in your browser with a PDF library, so the files stay on your device. You don't have to take our word for it.
Open your browser's developer tools (usually F12), go to the Network tab, then add your files and merge them. You should see no request carrying your PDF. For more on this, read merge PDF without uploading.
Tips for a clean result
- Name your files with numbers (01, 02, 03) before adding them, so the starting order is already right.
- Check the final order before you download. Fixing it afterward means splitting again.
- Photos can be large. Files up to 50 MB work, so a stack of big phone pictures may hit the limit.
- Need to drop pages from the merged file? Open it in the split tool and delete them.
What it will not do
- It doesn't compress. The merged file is about as big as the sum of its parts.
- It doesn't edit text, fill forms or sign.
- It can't open a password-protected PDF. Remove the password first.
- It joins whole files. To use only some pages, cut them with the split tool first.
What does it cost?
Nothing in Gems. Merge is a page tool that runs on your device, so it has no per-use cost. Gems are for the AI jobs such as chat with PDF.
Questions about Merge PDF files and images into one PDF
Can I merge PDF files without uploading them?
Yes. The merge runs in your browser, and the files stay on your device. You can confirm it in the Network tab of your browser's developer tools: no request should carry your PDF.
Can I combine JPG or PNG images into a PDF?
Yes. Add the images next to your PDFs and each becomes a page. You can use only images to make a PDF from photos, then reorder and download.
Is there a size limit for merging?
Files up to 50 MB. Since the tool doesn't compress, the merged PDF will be roughly the combined size of what you add, so a pile of large photos can reach the limit fast.
Do I need to sign in to merge PDFs?
The web app may ask you to sign in with email or Google before the tool opens. Once it's open, merging doesn't use any Gems and nothing is uploaded.
Can I change the order after merging?
Reorder before you download, in the file list. If you already saved the file, open it in the split tool, where you can move pages and save again.
